Intervene

Hello,

is it common to use the word "intervene" in this context?
"I will intervene in my bank in case ...."

If not, is "explain" better?

I am trying to write that I will have to go to the bank and learn what went wrong with my transfer.

Thank you

Intervene is close, but a better word may be inquire. As far as I can understand your context, "explain" would not fit well. You would inquire to seek an explanation of what went wrong with your bank transfer.
