Intersperse

"We have chosen a holiday at the seaside that is interspersed with fitness classes."

Does the word 'intersperse' sound natural in this example? Let's say that my friend and I are going on a summer holiday to Italy where we will participate in fitness classes every morning and evening. The fitness classes are part of the holiday.

Thank you.
