Interpretation of "using"

Please tell me the difference between the following two:

1. They will show the examples using this method.
2. They will show the examples, using this method.

To me, the meaning of the above 2 is clear, but I want to know if the meaning of 1. can be sometimes interpreted just the same as 2.

In 1, does "using this method" modify "examples"? If so, the meaning of the sentence will be: They will show the examples which use this method.
