Interior Minister vs. Minister of Interior

Hello!
I have serious doubts about this issue. Many times you say also "nectar of the gods" vs. "Gods´ nectar" ...

I guess the real question is when do you use the preposition 'of'. Some times this is clear "something of a whole" such "a sock of that drawer" but some times I don´t know which way to say the above examples...
