Interfaces with

It's a game that interfaces with reality itself, some elements like players will be reproduced perfectly while the in-game world will remain unchanged and is hard-coded into the game.


Interface means

To serve as an interface or become interfaced.


but I am not sure this is the right word, because we're just importing elements from the real world to the game. I guess the real world communicates with the game engine and adds elements to the game, so in a sense we can say the game is interfacing with reality.
