Interesting phrase, pls help.

hi folks,

can you please clarify me the phrase "die on me"???

For example on this sentence..."My computer just die on me five days ago."...Could it be expressed like "My computer just stopped working in the front off my eyes"???

Or what is the most precise expression of the phrase..thx
