Interesting

Hi

Can you help?

Context: This is an article on the rising violence among youth based on a pie chart wherein there is information about the factors that push youth to violence.

I want to know whether the word "interesting" is rightly used here. (I have this sentence in an answer script.)

It is interesting to find that films having a lot violence play a big role in instigating the youth to violence.

Thanks. I was wondering if 'unfortunate' or 'disheartening' sounds better here.

I do not whether I thought right about using interesting to refer to something pleasant.

Hi,

'Interesting ' is fine . I's a more objective term than those others.

Neither sounds better or worse. Either one would give a different tone to the statement. "interesting" is more objective; your current suggestions imply judgement on the part of the author. If that's what you want then either is fine otherwise stick with "interesting."
