1 (They are having a sports event and want to find out if anyone is interested in playing there)

If you are interested in playing, please contact Mr. John Doe.

2. (They are having a cooking event and want to know if anyone would be willing to bring a food item to display there)

If you are interested in participating, please contact Mr. John Doe.

Some sports, you play. eg cricket, football.

Some sports, you compete in. eg races, jumping.

For both kinds, you could say
eg If you are interest
