Interchange's motivation letter

Hey Guys, i'm from brazil and new to this community. I'm attending an interchange program at my university and I need to write a motivation letter in english. Can someone make suggestions about the text or abot the grammar plz?

Here's the letter:



Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is [name removed], I am 19 years old and study at the Universidade Federal de São Carlos(UFSCar). I am a Computer Engineering student currently at the fourth semester, willing to apply the ISAC project from the Erasmus Mundus project.

The main reason that made me want to study abroad through y this interchange program is that despite the knowledge acquired during my stay at UFSCar, meeting people with different cultures may be excellent to become a more mature person. It's even better that this opportunity is available at such great universities, which have great academic programs to choose, making it an excellent academic choice too.

My intention would be to attend at classes related to computer engineering among with some Electronic Engineering classes because those courses doesn’t exist at my university and it’s a subject that interests me and is related to my field of study.

Considering that choice, my first option would be the Luleå University of Technology, in Sweden, followed by the Czech Technical University in the Czech Republic and the Universidade de Coimbra. This reflects my intentions of participating on this program attending classes in English, which is the main language at my field of study that can be used to improve my communication skills in this language and to learn an entire new language at the same time. Coimbra is a great option too, being one of the most traditional universities of the world, with undeniable reputation. Even though these countries are totally different from Brazil, I have already lived in 5 different cities here, I think this fact grants me some experience in adapting myself to new places.

About academic background I would say I’m not a perfect student, but I always try to keep my grades above average. I also have participated on the organization of events such a reunion of all the students from my course since the first class. This fact shows that I am integrated at my university as a society and I can share my experiences with many different students, making the program a rich experience to a large amount of people.

To finish this letter, I want to thank for having this opportunity, that experience of studying abroad for that longer wouldn’t be possible to me if it were not by programs like this. It’s a great chance and I really want to make part of the ISAC project.
