intention/an intention

what is the difference between "intention" and "an intention"?

for e.g. 1) Do you have an intention to sleep here? 2) Do you have intention to sleep here?

is there any difference when i write the article "an" and not write? i know both are grammatically no wrong, but i just want to know the difference. thanx.

Both of these sentences sound odd. ' But if we are using 'intention' then yes it does need 'an' as it is a noun. To use it without the an is grammatically incorrect.

Both of these sentences sound odd. Realistically you would ask 'do you intend to sleep here?'

I agree, "Do you have an intention to sleep here? " is grammatically right.

But I would say "Do you intend..." instead.
