Intention

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have any good references on explaining which prepositions go with the word intention?

Why do we sometimes say, 'We had no intention on doing that.'

This doesn't sound right to me, yet I know you can use 'on' after INTENTION.

Any credible rules around this one?

Thanks

Thanks Mr. M.

There are sentences within Fraze.it.com which have many sentences with the words - intention on...

This is why I'm querying it.

Only 29, which is not many. I think the writers have for the most part been led astray by 'intend on (doing)'.

Ngram shows 'intention on' as all but non-existent:

whoops...meant to say: '...which has...' (not have).

Thanks again Mr. M.
