Can somebody please me with the usage of "Too"

If somebody says. You are welcome
And i respond: You too.

Is that an incorrect response. If yes, then what should i use and why??

"You're welcome" usually terminates the exchange. There is nothing further to say.

There is no response to "You're welcome". It is the response to "Thank you".

I did realize this later. However, you reasoning makes it a lot clear. Now, I can explain why it does not take "You too".
