Integrity vs integrality

Hi there,

Could you please help me understand the difference between integrity and integrality? It seems that both have the sense of completeness. Thank you.

integrality has a specialized use in mathematics. As a "normal" word it means entireness or completeness, and it is very, very rarely used, though the adjectival form integral is used less rarely. integrity is much more often used.

Both integrity and integrality have to do with parts as they relate to wholes. Integrity is not having parts that do not belong, and integrality has to do with parts that fit properly. The whole has integrity if the parts are integral.
