1. I have a guitar.
2. I have the guitar.
3. I have an acoustic guitar and an electric guitar.

Not with "play", no. Certain "verb + name of musical instrument" combinations use "the" in a special way:

play the guitar
learn the guitar
practise the guitar

These are all general statements, not referring
