Instructions for a listening exercise

Hi teachers,
These instructions are for a listening exercise.
Write down where Ikuko stopped and how she ......
What the students are supposed to write more or less is 'Ikuko stopped by the door of the expensive Tokyo restaurant, looking unsure'.
My question is what I should write in the instructions in order to include 'looking unsure'.

Could it also be possible to say:
a) '... how she looked'
b) '... what she looked like'
