2. To notify means to officially or formally state something

The notice as a whole is a communication wherein something is formally stated.

My question is whether it is appropraite to start a notice with a statement like this: This is notify that...

If you want to say that, say 'This is to notify you that . . . ' Thuis sounds quite formal to my ear.

You could also say 'Please note that . . .'

Or you could just start right into the main point.

eg instead of 'This is to notify you that there will be a free . . . '

simply say 'There will be a free . . . '

It all depends on how formally such things are normally worded in your culture. Perhaps you might feel that Canadians are too informal.

They have shown me that it is very much possible that some times glaring errors go undetected. Further I learn that I need to be brief when the context is explanatory.

Yes, I find that learners with good English commonly fall into the trap of saying too much. It's just a matter of practice, and of listening to and reading natural English.

After two days a Free eye check up camp is going to held
in our school. The timing is 2:30 to4:00pm.All parents are
requested to come here for the check
