Instead of

a. Make your money work for you, instead of your working for it.

b. Make your money work for you, instead of you working for it.

Are both correct and why?

------

I should kill you instead of hurting/hurt you.

Should I roast meat instead of grill/grilling it?

Shouldn't these be the noun (gerund) forms 'hurting' and grilling respectively?

Thank you

I don't like the commas at all. 'Your' is formally correct while 'you' is not, but nevertheless, 'you' is making headway among the hoi polloi and is now considered acceptable by many grammarians in all but the most formal situations.

Shouldn't these be the noun (gerund) forms 'hurting' and grilling respectively?-- That is probably more often the case, but both are in use
