Instead

Sir,

1.I don't eat rice at night. I eat chapati instead.

2.I don't eat rice at night. Instead I eat chapati.

Which one is correct?

I want to know about the proper Position of instead.

Hi, "Instead" is an adverb. You have tremendous flexibility where you place it. So in that regard both 1 and 2 are correct.
