Instant's state of being.

0Not sure if this is the best place to ask a question such as this, but I was playing WoW earlier (hopefully you don't have to be familiar with WoW to understand my question) and was pondering the mana cost of 2 different spells. One of them does more damage and costs less mana, but the other is an instant cast spell. I was running the sentence through my mind when I had a question about it. Would the sentence be "The reason the spell costs more mana is because of its instantness, instance, instantaneousness", or something else? I asked the question to some friends while playing and the best they could come up with was there was no actual word, you would just have to use it in the context such as this. "The reason the spell costs more mana is because of its instantaneous effect." I was not happy with this answer because this means that the word Instant does not have a self state of being and must have another word to help get its point acrossed. 02br
