"Installed" as king??

Hi

I recently read in an article that some "XYZ was installed as king.".

I've seen the word "install" being used only with objects. Is it right to use the word "install" for appointing someone as king?

If not, please help me with alternate words we can use for this situation.

Thank you.

  • Yes.
  • It means that the king was forced upon the nation.
  • "Install" is normally neutral in this sort of use, as with a president, but you crown a king, not install him, so to say he was installed means more than that he was crowned.
