Inspiring vs. inspirational

Hello everyone,

I've always known - in the back of my mind - there was a difference between inspiring and inspirational. However, I never really consciously differentiated between them.

The definitions from my dictionary can be found below, but can anyone better help me understand what the difference is?

Thank you.

Inspiring

encouraging, or making you feel you want to do somethingShe was an inspiring example to her followers.

Inspirational

making you feel hopeful or encouraged He gave an inspirational reading of his own poems.
