I want to describe one of my pieces as a "Homage to the creators of great music that inspires and elevates the human spirit." A friend was telling me it should be "inspire and elevate" since the subject is "creators." However, my intention is to modify/describe the music that "inspires and elevates" and not the creators. Am I grammatically in the clear? I even gave my friend another example which seemed to convince him a little more - what if it was "Homage to the creators of great music that breaks all barriers between people" - it would be "breaks" and not "break." What say you?
You're right.
