Insincere

Hello everyone! Emotion: smile

I have been wondering if there is any other way to say "insincere". In Spanish an insincere person would be called "falso", would "fake" work in English?
An insincere person is a person that is very kind to you but critisizes you when you are not with her, right?

Thanks in advance!

"Phoney" is a slang word for hypocrite, although a phoney need not be false in precisely the way you described. Such a person might pretend to have money, a particular type of artistic preference, etc. that he does not really possess.
