Input

What does 'input' mean in 'We have no input into this (matter)'

Does it mean we have no 'say'?

Top answer

It usually means that we have nothing to contribute, nothing to volunteer or bring forward. It does not mean that we don't have a 'say'. Even if we don't have input of our own, we may have permission or the ability to say something, perhaps regarding someone else's input.
