Hi

Would you say that the phrase initiate someone into something sounds fully natural? Is this sentence correct?

I don't want to initiate Mark in this project. With all his talent and skills, he is too lazy.

No. I can't imagine anyone saying it. It seems to me that, simply stated, it means

I don't want to put Mark on this project. ... lazy.
