ING or Infinitive

I would like to know if the usage of the infinitive form after "sense of" is correct in the following paragraph:

DESIGN has many definitions. It has the sense of designate, sort, arrange, represent, regulate, and indicates yet discipline with a embracing and flexible character, likely to different interpretations.

If instead of "has the sense of" I used "Design means" would be correct to use the infinitive ("Design means to designate, sort, arrange, represent, regulate")?

Thank you very much!

The first sentence is not presented clearly (and I don't know what 'yet' was supposed to mean, so I have deleted it). It should look like this: DESIGN has many definitions. It has the sense of " designate, sort, arrange, represent, regulate " and indicates discipline with an embracing and flexible character .

  • It is open to different interpretations.
