Grammar

-ing form.

I tried to make the sentence which has same meaning with this sentence, "I immersed myself in reading, exploring other people's worlds, just so i could forget my own." However, when I made this my own sentence, "Reading books, I have forgot everything for me to explore other worlds. ", the Natives told me it was bunk and not correct.

Could you explain to me what are the differences between them and what my faulty faulties are?

Thanks.

It's unclear what you are forgetting in the second sentence. Also, instead of "for me", you need to pick different words that link what you forgot, and what it allowed you to do. "Just so I could" in the first sentence links the two different parts of the sentence, showing that.

  • It's unclear what you are forgetting in the second sentence.
  • Also, instead of "for me", you need to pick different words that link what you forgot, and what it allowed you to do.
  • "Just so I could" in the first sentence links the two different parts of the sentence, showing that.
  • You need similar wording otherwise it's hard to understand how forgetting everything and reading books has effected your ability to explore other words.
