Ing Clauses

Ing clauses take the tense of the verb in the main clause:

I shouted at him, thinking (and thought) he was very rude.

What about when the main clause has modal verbs? EG

She wouldn't be interested in him, thinking he was like every other guy.

Could this mean any of the following or only a (ignore the meaning: because she thought...)?

a. She wouldn't be interested in him, and would think he was like every other guy.

OR

b. She wouldn't be interested in him, and thinks he was like every other guy.

OR

c. She wouldn't be interested in him, and thought he was like every other guy.

I don't know who is nuttier, you for asking or us for trying to explain.

Me, definitely me. I don't quite know how my brain works, so there is no way anyone else will.
