Information's granularity

Hi,

Please have a look at this:

Salespeople must help the company to gather ground-level intelligence. The quality and granularity of that information profoundly affect the company's ability to survive and thrive.

What does 'granularity' here mean? Does it mean 'being detailed' or 'being not yet filtered'?

Thank you very much,

Nessie.
