Assignment:You have been working as an au pair boy with a family abroad.Write a letter to an English-spekaing friend telling them about the family you are staying with and what work you are doing.Please help.Thanks

Dear Friend,

Many thanks for your letter.I‘m sorry I haven‘ t written for so long, but I‘ve been very busy because I have lot of work.

The family in which I live is very kind,friendly .Parents have one son and one daughter. Son Peter is 25 years old and he is at university when he study on law school. Daughter Lucy is 16 yeras old and she visited regulary secondary school when she has perfects marks. Head of the family is Johnny.He is 55 years old and his job is postman.Name of his wife is Christina.She is pretty and she works as a clerk and deals with licences for business people.

I work as chef all day in the prestige restaurant so I don‘t have enough time to do my hobbys.I work from 7am until 7pm and it is very hard to do this job but I have courteous salary.At the weekneds I like playing football with my colleagues on the pitch near restaurant.

Anyway I’d better go now as I want to catch the post.

Hi, nice and chatty, quite natural sounding, but you do have a few little errors.

Mainly, however, I think you've misunderstood what an au-pair is. It is a young person who lives with a family and works for them part-time on domestic chores and child-care in exchange for their accomodation and food and a small wage, with the idea that the rest of the time they are studying English in some way. They are unlikely to have another job as well, and most families have au-pairs mainly to help with their children.

So I think you need to re-write your letter with that in mind.

Nona you are right but not all the families keep au-pair for their children.Most of the parents keep them for their wage or a kind of income

This is odd and unnatural. The word "boy" does not, normally follow au pair. See this http://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/au-pair There is no need for that word so, it should be deleted.
