Informal equivalent?

Dear Teachers,

How to say ’’that would be detrimental for us’’, ’’that would be a >tragedy<’’ (where ’’tragedy’’ is a bit of an exaggaration) with an informal expression (preferably with a phrasal verb)? Please, could you let me know if you know such an expression?

Thank you Emotion: thinking
