Informal email

Hi,

could any one take a look on my email. Thanks

Hi Tom

What’s up! Thanks for your last letter, it was really great to hear from you after such a long time.

Guess what? Anna has a new boyfriend! His name is Stefan and he is from Germany. She has met him at the University and immediately they got on like a house on fire.

Stefan is younger than we but, very tall and well-built. I’m pretty sure he is attending to a gym.
I met him at the party yesterday and had a little chat with him. He was joking all the time. I thing he is the most cheerful guy I’ve ever met.

I really like him and I’m sure Anna will be happy with him.
What do you think about it ??
I’m looking forward to hearing from you.

Best Tomek.

Hi

I would say it's one of those English verb / verb phrases where the preposition makes a difference..

Without a preposition, it means "to go regularly to"..

- He attends the gym

- My son attends the local Junior School

- He attends St Michael's church

With "to", it means to look after or to care for..

- As the caretaker of the gym, h

Hi

I was making up sentences to illustrate the word and perhaps that one was slightly strange

I can imagine a scene in which the grandfather has brought presents for the children, listens to them read, plays games with them and so on

Someone might say "Isn't Grandpa wonderful - look at how he attends to the children."

Here, it means "pay attention to someone in
