"influence over other people" and "influence with other people"

Hi all,

what's the difference between phrases "influence over other people" and "influence with other people". What do they mean? Could you explain it/transform it more simply?

"over" seems stronger and more direct.

'Influence over', perhaps more commonly used, refers to one's ability to influence others.

While 'influence with' may be used when referring to a group or one with others combined have an influence or are able to influence.

Uncommon. They persuade other people. The others may respect them, but the influence may or may not be successful.
