Can someone please explan to me in a simplest sentence what "inflammation" mean?

"inflammation of the liver"

What does inflammation in the above sentence mean?

Dear Mountain, Inflammation means Pain. It is the local reaction to injury or infection. Inflammation of Liver - means pain in the liver due to infection/injury.

Inflammation might cause pain but it does not mean pain.

Inflammation is a response of body tissues to injury or irritation; characterized by pain and swelling and redness and heat.

So, for example, if a mosquito bites your arm, your arm will become inflamed. You will have a circle of inflammation.

Hi Sri,
It's just called pain.

You can have discomfort, soreness, tenderness, or aching, but really, "pain" is okay. Sometimes doctors will have you assess your pain on a scale of 1 to 10.
