Infinitive structures

Hi, I am mexican and I am learning English Grammar and I there is a topic that I cant really understand

Ending a sentence with a preposition is ok in 4 cases

a) questions

b) Relative Clauses

c) Passives

d) infinitive estructure

I dont understand the last one, what is a "infinitive structure" One example is for instance: Bryan need a Friend to talk to or "I need a chair to sit on"

But what is exactly an infinitive structure? the two sentences I just wrote what kind of infinitive structure are?

Also I dont understand the passive, but maybe I should ask that at another time =)

In your examples the infinitives are used to replace a relative clause: Bryan need s a f riend [who/whom/that] he can talk to. / Bryan needs a friend to whom he can talk. I need a chair [that/which] I can sit on.
