Infinitive

Dear Teachers

I am not quite sure if we have infinitive after the word 'expect'.

As far as I remember it should be, like 'I expect him to go'.

Please, help me understand it better.

If there's no intervening word, you're talking about yourself.

I expect to go. = I expect (*me) to go. = I expect that I will go.
