Hello,

are "induce" and "elicit" basically the same?

This program can induce good behavior.
This program can elicit good bheavior.

This program can induce good attitudes.
This program can elicit good attitudes.

Well, I suppose the meanings are essentially the same, but 'elicit'; sounds much better in those sentences. 'Induce' is a more intrusive influence, I think.
