Hello,
1. He said, 'are you going to the film tomorrow?'
Now, The problem is that I don't know about the person to whom the question is being asked.
So, How can I write the indirect speech? Somebody writes it as
a) He asked whether we were going to the film the next day.
and another writes
b)He asked whether they were going to the film the next day.
which one out of (a) and (b) is correct?
IS there any rule for this?
Please help me!

If he said it to you or one of you, then the answer is (a).
If he said it to someone else, then the answer is (b).
If he said it to someone else, then the answer is (b).
