Individuals can do nothing to improve the environment; only governments and large companies can make a difference. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

In the situation of the fact that our planet is getting more and more polluted, the concern about the environment is drawing a lot more attention of the public. Someone said that individuals could do nothing to improve the environment; only governments and large companies could make a difference. I totally disagree with that limited point of view. While governments and big organizations can pose some laws to control environmental activities, individuals like us can also dramatically contribute to protecting our planet.

There are many things we can do ourselves to help improve the environment. Firstly, everyone can limit the proportion of waste from their daily basics and carry out the three-r campaign: reuse-reduce-recycle, which will share much burden with the environment companies in treating waste. Secondly, saying no to products that are made from hunting rare animals such as elephants, birds,... Finally, each of us should grow trees or participate in projects carried to plant more trees and protect forests.

If one person can not make a huge change, we can also give the community a hand and make it together. The first thing you can do is raising awareness of people around you about the environmental issues and encourage them to take part in the activities for the sake of the environment. For example, inviting your family and friends to participate in a "green project" to plant more trees in your hometown, which is simple and easy to do but can make a dramatic change. In addition, in terms of organizations, there are a lot of events and projects to raise funds for environmental disaster rescuing, which you can do a favor as a volunteer.

In short, as an individual, everyone can help to improve the environment along with the governments and large companies. Regardless of the individual or community scale, if you have your heart set on the environment, you can do everything and make a huge difference.
