It is argued that people’s impacts on climate change are little or nearly to zero. While I agree that the authorities have responsibilities for climate change, individuals should also be responsible for this problem.
On the one hand, there are two main reasons why it is necessary for the government to take part in changing the world. The first reason is that government can enforce laws to limit the emission of harmful waste. For instance, we may mention to the illegal discharging of waste water of Vedan Company in Dong Nai Province in Vietnam. When the authorities did the investigation, this enterprise was fined 91 billion VND environmental fee and temporarily suspended for a period of time. Secondly, official medias should be provided for individuals to change the attitudes of population. If the governments issue a forest planting order in one province through the Internet or media, this news will be widespread on a large scale immediately. As a result, a number of people joining to this campaign may be significantly increased that also contribute to environmental protection.
On the other hand, most people must be encouraged to attend limiting climate change. Firstly, people’s health is affected directly by natural disasters such as drought, earthquake, tsunami, storm, etc. Every year, Natural disasters have killed more than thousands of people and left behind trillions of dollars in damages. The less pollution a person causes, the longer they live. What is more, using a private car and flying not only cause polluted environment due to their emission but also waste lots of natural resources. Finally, the world is experiencing the problem of the overconsumption of natural resources. This is due to the fact that citizens’ demand for energy consumption is increasing in terms of gas for cars and electricity for bigger homes and offices. Obviously, individuals must be educated to use vital resources sparingly and wisely.
In conclusion, although i recognise that reserving environment is the fundamental principle of governments, i would argue that individuals should profoundly refect upon their environmental responsibiliies.
