Indirect speech: past perfect tense

Indirect speech : Suresh asked Ramesh whether he had watched the cricket match on television.

Direct speech 1 : Suresh said to Ramesh," Have you watched the cricket match on television.

Direct speech 2: Suresh said to Ramesh," Did you watch the cricket match on television.


Both past tense and present perfect change to past perfect when changing direct speech into indirect speech. So in given sentence which one is correct answer if we have to choose one.
