Indirect speech

A: I think he might come today. After a few days when he didn't come that day, can we say,'I thought he might have come that day.'?

B: I think he should be here today. The same situation, when he didn't come that day. Can we say,'I thought he should have been there that day.'?

Yes, you can say that, but most people would just say I thought he might come that day. You don't really need 'have'.
