indirect questions (to identify which are...?)

Hello!

Is the word order in this sentence correct?:

It is now possible to identify exactly which are the genes responsible for each trait.

I have difficulties with word order in indirect questions... Do you know where I can get a thorough explanation?

Thanks a lot!!!!

The word order is OK, but it seems a little arhythmic; I think I would choose: It is now possible to identify exactly which genes are responsible for each trait . html#direct ]HERE, FOR INSTANCE[/url]. Googling the phrase ' indirect questions ' will get you explanations and quizzes.

Maybe I'm wrong because "which" is, in fact, the subject and "the genes responsible for each trait" the subject complement. Could anybody, please, clarify it with a grammatical expla

There is no indirect question. Which is merely an adjective.

I don't know which people are coming.
I cannot find out what time the dance starts.

It is now possible to identify exactly which genes are responsible for each trait.
