Hi Aspara Gus

Please tell me if this is OK.

"The quick brown fox wondered if the lazy dog was getting annoyed with him."

I think this is a complex sentence with the main clause "The quick brown fox wondered " and the subordinate clause -noun clause - "if the lazy dog was getting annoyed with him"

Is there an Indirect Object in the following sentence?

Hi, vsuresh,

The main clause is the entire sentence.
If the lazy dog was getting annoyed with him is a content clause (a type of subordinate clause), not a noun. The verb wonder usually doesn’t even take an NP.

Aspara GusIn basic clauses like this the indirect object precedes the direct object, and the indirect object never occurs after a preposition. Dinner is said to be a direct object because it is more directly involved in being acted on than the referent of the indirect object. The dinner is what is being prepared or cooked, whereas his wife ‘receives’ the dinner.
