Indirect and object

What is the diffrence between direct and indirect objects? Also how to find them in a senetence without getting them confused?

Hi. A direct object follows the verb immediately. Ex.

  • Hi.
  • A direct object follows the verb immediately.

  • He gave a book to me.
  • Book is the direct object and me is the indirect object because it follows a preposition.

Hi.

A direct object follows the verb immediately.

Ex. He gave a book to me. Book is the direct object and me is the indirect object because it follows a preposition.

Ex. I send a letter to him. A letter would be the diret object and him would be the indirect object.

In other way, the direct object is the one which directly receives the action of verb.
