Independent clause?

Hi, everyone.

Could you tell me whether the sentence is correct and the clause in bold is an independent clause?

Mistakes to be corrected are too many, so I suggest you do it yourself.

Is it clear in the clause in bold that the "it" in that clause refers to the act of correcting mistakes?
