indefinite length of time

HI there,

"Depatures will be restricted for an indefinite length of time."

Would someone tell me the meaning of this sentence?

Thank you,

It means that we don't know, or perhaps won't say, how long the restriction on departures will last. The street will be closed for repairs for one week. The street will be closed for repairs for an indefnite length of time -- maybe two days, maybe six months.
