Indefinite article needed?

Hi. Which is correct? As for the sentence below, I thought the word "school" without the indefinite article "a" was used when it meant activity and it was used with the "a" when it meant a building or physical structure.

He teaches at school (at a school? correct?).

How about this? Should there be the indefinite article "a" before the capitalized prefix "Mini"? Thank you for your help in advance.

They had a Mini-Olympic Games today.
