Indebted to him

1) I am indebted to him for my knowledge in mathematics.

Does that mean that he taught me all the mathematics I know?

Does that mean that if it weren't for him, I wouldn't know any mathematics (he laid the foundation)?

Could that sentence be used if I learned only some mathematics from him?

Gratefully,

Navi.
