Does it make sense to say "increase/decrease/limit your love? I will put that in a context.
(1) Brenda gradually increased her love for her stepdaughter as they lived together longer.
(2) Mary decreased her love for her stepson after she had a child.
(3) Parents should not limit their love for their children.
What is your opinion? Thanks a lot.
The first two sound a bit clinical, as if love levels can be numerically quantified and controlled, and that seems rather odd. The third is fine. I would suggest for (1): Brenda's love for her stepdaughter gradually grew as they lived together longer.

and (2):
